Schoolhouse 101: Bedding Styled 3 Ways
Here at Schoolhouse, there are two things we take especially seriously — sleep and styling. Pair the two together and we've got the ultimate passion project. From crisp cottons to laid back linens, there are so many reasons why we think everyone should personalize their space with quality bedding. The best part? There are so many ways to switch your space using the same base layers. If you find yourself craving change, but don't want to buy all brand new bedding, this post is for you. Below, we share a few ways to style different setups using a few tried-and-true Schoolhouse staples.
Before we dive in, a note about bedding basics. A fun way to think about bedding is to relate it to the four layer system of clothing. To spell it out: sheet sets are undergarments, duvets are mid-layers, coverlets are outerwear, and everything else (like throw pillows) are accessories. You may be tempted to skip on investing in the basics, but we can't stress enough how much materials matter. If you still need a reason to invest, here's a fun fact: the average human spends 1/3 of their life in bed. Who's In?!
Layering in textures and color can make a room feel interesting, but not too aesthetically overwhelming. The key here is to stick with a calming color palette and include lots of coordinating patterns. Styling a space based on this concept, can help make your sanctuary feel extra serene. This setup is for those looking for the best of both worlds.
